Singer for Opera, Operetta, Lied and Oratory – Bass
Philosopher, linguist, banker, works councilor and singer – an unusual singer biography: Thomas Eufinger was born in Limburg an der Lahn in 1968 and grew up in the nearby singing village Lindenholzhausen. There he first experienced choral singing, in the harmony of Lindenholzhausen, the boys’ choir and the church choir.
After that followed performances in the theatre, in plays by Goldoni, Mrozek and Sartre at the Spielschar Limburg, amongst others.
After his high school degree he studied Romance Philology and music sciences at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, in Siena and at the Universitat Central in Barcelona. One focus was Catalan and it was no surprise that his Master’s thesis was titled “Operas and Singspiele in Catalan”.
In addition to his philological studies, Thomas Eufinger received vocal training at the Dr. Hochs Conservatory in Frankfurt with Bruno Fabisch and Yoo-Chang Nah.
He also attended singing classes with Cornelius Reid, Karin Geber-Brandt, Annette Kleine, and Arthur Janzen. He has participated in several singing and master classes in Münster, Engers and Schloss Henfenfeld. Since September 2014 an intensive weekly collaboration with Prof. Janzen has taken place.
Thomas Eufinger sings bass in Italian and both bass and bass baritone parts in German. For more information visit his repertoire.
Besides singing, he also has a great passion for foreign languages.
It is unusual for a singer that after his first studies he worked in a bank, where he was also elected to various committees for employee representation. He then studied German as a foreign language at the University of Mainz and founded the company ISEU (Iser, Eufinger and Partners) www.iseu.de His focus as a language teacher is German pronunciation.
Apart from further concerts in Germany, performances are planned in Mexico, India and Catalonia.
